Mahendra Naidoo

Dr Mahendra Naidoo graduated from the University of Otago (NZ) and undertook physician training at Westmead Hospital (Sydney) and North Shore Hospital (NZ). His specialty training in Medical Oncology commenced at Waikato Hospital (NZ) followed by a 2 year Fellowship at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre focussed on treatment of patients with Gynaecological and Gastrointestinal cancers. During this time he also worked in the Breast and Ovarian Cancer Risk Management clinic, counselling women with confirmed genetic alterations (e.g. BRCA1/BRCA2) on risk reduction.
Dr Naidoo is a Fulbright Scholar having completed a Masters in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University (2015) . Following this he worked at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) of the NIH in Maryland, USA working on designing and reviewing cancer research grants.
He is presently working at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Upper Gastrointestinal Oncology and is undertaking a PhD at Monash University's School of Public Health focussing on improving outcomes in Ovarian Cancer at the National Gynae-Oncology Registry (NGOR) under Professor John Zalcberg. He also consults at Epworth Richmond and John Fawkner Hospitals. Dr Naidoo is a member of AGITG and ANZGOG.
