Jim Siderov AM

Jim began his career in cancer pharmacy practice in 1989 shortly after earning his BPharm degree. In 1998, he achieved the inaugural US Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) and re-certified in 2006 and 2013. He was awarded Fellowship to the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA) in 2004 and completed his Masters in Clinical Pharmacy in 2005. In 2015, Jim was credentialed as an Advanced Practice Pharmacist by the Australian Pharmacy Council. He was admitted as a Member (AM) of the Order of Australia in 2019 for his services to oncology pharmacy as a clinician and to professional associations. Presently, Jim serves as the Senior Pharmacist for Cancer Services at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre at Austin Health, Heidelberg, Australia.

An active member of various professional organisations, Jim has contributed significantly to the field. He served on the SHPA Committee of Specialty Practice in Oncology and chaired the Cancer Pharmacists Group of the Clinical Oncological Society of Australia for two years starting in 2010. Additionally, Jim was the ISOPP Chair of the Standards Committee for four years beginning in 2012. Currently, Jim is serving on the BPS Oncology Pharmacy Specialty Council.

Jim has an extensive publication record in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at conferences at the local, national, and international levels. He has also lectured to undergraduate and postgraduate students at both Melbourne and Monash Universities. His primary interests lie in solid tumours, with a focus on colorectal cancer, and he is also dedicated to addressing occupational health and safety concerns related to the handling of cytotoxic drugs.
